ABSTRACT

In Chapter 5 we developed a general mathematical model for

scheduling of the construction projects. The model can handle

various conditions such as repetitive and non-repetitive tasks, work

continuity considerations, multiple-crew strategies, and the effects

of varying job conditions on the performance of a crew. An

optimization formulation was presented for the construction project

scheduling problem with the goal of minimizing the direct

construction cost. In Chapter 6, the nonlinear optimization problem

was solved by the neural dynamics model of Adeli and Park.
