E pidem iology is the study o f the d is tribu tion o f diseases in a particu lar com m unity o r d is tr ic t. A variety as w ell as a large quantity o f data needs to be gathered in o rd e r to try and establish a p a tte rn of d is tribu tion o f parasitic infections. T he data are best ob tained e ither d irectly in the field o r from a source such as hospital o r regional health clinic reco rds.
