ABSTRACT

When nonlinearities come up in different applications, it is common to use an inner feedback loop to remove much of the nonlinear effects. The system can be controlled as a linear system in an outer control loop. In some cases it turns out to be possible to remove the nonlinear effects completely in the inner control loop. Recently, a systematic methodology has been developed to do this. Often the term exact linearization, is used to stress the fact that the effect of the nonlinearity is completely removed. To show the basic ideas we will look at some examples.
