ABSTRACT

Low back disability is the lost work time or restricted duty that results from low back pain. Low back disability is obviously related to low back pain, but includes many other variables that influence disability (e.g. type of job, management policies and practices, personality differences, supervisor conflicts, domestic problems, etc.). There is a poor relationship between low back pain and low back disability (Von Korff et al. 1993; Linton 1985; Snook et al. 1998).
