ABSTRACT

To identify causal determinants of particular work-related diseases; To identify jobs with high rates of disorders so that interventions can be targeted; To determine if a control programme has been effective in reducing incidence, severity or cost of disease; To identify individual workers with possible disease so they may obtain appropriate referral and early therapy; To predict future risk of development of disease in individual workers so as to positively influence appropriate job placement; To assess job compatibility of individual workers.
