ABSTRACT
In this chapter some general concepts regarding an illness case definition, diagnostic process and critical epidemiological evaluations for the surveillance of upper limb disorders in working populations are examined. and some case definitions of upper limb disorders potentially useful in the surveillance of workers at risk are proposed and discussed. In this context, when we want to compare risk factors and health outcome, they must both be clearly defined.
