ABSTRACT

Doing well in the office is not solely related to the major activities, such as keyboarding. Other tasks are likely to take a lot of effort and time, even if you discount them as not so important. And performing well depends on more than employee skills and corporate reward incentives. Instead, we must also feel safe and secure in the office, with work conditions that do not expose us to dangers and hazards. You probably do not routinely ask yourself these questions when you step into your office in the morning, but is your company doing whatever it can to keep your work environment free of unnecessary hazards? Are you concerned about an outbreak of fire? Do cables and electrical cords get in your way? Do you run all over the place to retrieve old files? How much do you use the telephone? Does your neck hurt, or your wrist?
