ABSTRACT

Although, the automobiles have exhausted many environmental problems, they are necessary in a contemporary human life. A clean energy, being in fashion, an electric automobile, has a high potential to solve the problem within a field o f internal combustion engine. An extension o f car body span may contribute to the extension of the life o f automobiles itself. It is also contributes to the environmental problem being brought about by the automobiles. The car body surface is damaged by the environmental pollution such as acid rain [1], [2]. Indeed it is unquestionable that the pollution causes a short life o f the automobile. We found the high resistance to corrosion o f the car coating film by the excellent treatment [3]. The coating material contains a silicone polymer. The silicone polymer, silicon-based polymer in other words, intensely shows the water repellent and resistance to corrosion by sunlight. Furthermore, we find the superelasticity of the coating film. When the automobile occurs a near collision, the excellent car coating film prevents to fail and scratch. Figure 1 shows the schematic drawing o f a peeling off in a near collision. When the treated car comes into a near collision ( see Fig. 1 ( a ) ) , the coating films slip on the frictional plane, each other ( see Fig. 1 ( b ) ) . The untreated coating film is fractured by share stress ( see Fig. 1 ( c ) ) . And finally peels off. If the coated paint shows superelasticity, the treatment enhances the resistance to fracture on a near collision. Thus, the authors have evaluated the superelasticity o f the film induced by the excellent car body coating treatment.
