ABSTRACT
Inthepast,severalauthorstriedtodevelopelectrostaticatomisersforfuelsinordertouse themincombustionsystems[1-2).Thiselectrostaticatomisationmethodpresentedsome basicadvantagesbecauseitpreventedtheagglomerationofsmalldroplets.Neverthelessthe differentmethodsusedwerelimitedbecausethefuelhadaverypoorconductivity.Jonesand Thong[3]wereunabletochargekerosene(conductivitycr=1Q-12S/m)bytheinduction method.However,byaddinga3%ofASA3,thevalueoftheconductivityoftheliquid increasedupto1o-6S/mandallowedthemtochargekerosenesuccessfully. Intheexperimentspresentedinthispaper,weuseddieseloildopedwithananti-static additive(stadis450).Westudytheparameterslikelytoenhancethechargedensityofthejet.
