ABSTRACT

By way of example, two electrostatic fuel systems are discussed: a relatively low flow rate ( -D.02 mUs) steady state Jet, diesel fuel burner, and an electrostatic diesel nozzle(~ 100 mUs). In both instances, fundamental issues concerning the application of this enabling technology arise. These issues raise challenges that must be addressed if the transformation of this technology from being an enduring laboratory curiosity to commercialization is to be facilitated.
