ABSTRACT
Hipparcos had done its work, and done it weLl. lt then ran out of power and was left in orbit. As it never comes much below 130 miles (209 km) it is "safe", and if left to its own devices will orbit the world for a very long time to come. But could we send up some son of neT and fish it down?
