ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Energy conservation and light pollution are the two main topics for new lighting optical systems. To achieve these goals, luminous flux have to be directed only towards useful directions and source luminous flux shouldn't be wasted. Reflectors are often the most efficient approach for intensity and flux distribution shaping. Care should be taken to collect the largest amount of source flux, to control reflected and eventually refracted flux so as to avoid any thermal, electrical and optical influence on lamp emitting volume (burner) and on lamp envelope.
