ABSTRACT

Abstract: A simulation model of the TCE (Transient Collisional Excitation) x-ray laser has been developed. With this model, we simulate the lasing of TCE Ne-like Ge 19.6nm soft x-ray laser experiment, which shows qualitative agreement. We also model the near future experiment which will be done on a two-rays laser later this year in Shanghai, by irradiation of 1cm long Ge slab target with two 250ps, 1.053-um Nd-glass laser which is followed 80ps later by a lps, 10J high intensity drive pulse. Calculations with different delays between the long and the short pulses, and with different durations for the short pulse are presented to provide a better insight into optimization of the laser output.
