ABSTRACT

Abstract. Recent results regarding the development of a fully saturated 46.9 nm capillary discharge laser are reported. The output energy of 300400 uJ/pulse, the almost full spatial coherence and the pulse repetition rate of 0.2 Hz make this laser an attractive source for the development of the applications. The use of this laser for the processing of optical dielectric materials, which are of interest in the field of photonics and the production of miniaturized optical devices, is here considered. As an example, we report the holographic encoding of photo-luminescent patterns of colorcenters on the surface of LiF crystals.
