ABSTRACT

Abstract. We have studied luminescence properties of ZnS:Mn/SiC>2 one dimensional photonic crystal structure. PL spectra measured from opposite directions showed different spectral features. From one direction, emission of cavity layer showed asymmetric shape, but from the other direction, the spectral shape is symmetric. From a simple model calculation, the asymmetric shape observed in cavity mode emission was understood as optical Fano resonance between discrete emission from cavity layer and continuous background emission from all ZnS:Mn layer except the cavity layer.
