ABSTRACT
Pressuremeter probes and testing equipment vary between manufacturers and operators. Specifying a particular manufacturer's probe can often impose an unnecessary restriction on an operator since other probes may be similar to that specified. The operation of the equipment including maintenance and its limitations should be understood. This ensures the correct and full use of the equipment and minimises operational problems due to ground conditions. Installation and test procedures are a function of the pressuremeter specified.
