ABSTRACT

Electronic publishing has been defined as the application of computers to primarily “front end” the publishing process. This definition may have been a facetious attempt to explain how electronic publishing actually began with the use of the computer. Many define it as producing documents to be viewed on a computer screen that may never be printed on paper. In addition to Internet and World Wide Web, many CD-ROM products have answered the demands to “go electronic.” Electronic publishing may include video and sound clips, animated graphics, and even links. These materials may be original or they may have been paper published and then transferred to electronic format.
