ABSTRACT

Ergonomic work design is very important for the effectiveness of intensive medical work systems. Optimization of the work environment, work processes, and medical technologies help to decrease staff work load and create work that is good for the well-being and health of the staff (Friesdorf, Gobel & Buss, 2004). Ergonomics examines the interactions of human beings and other system elements and aims to increase and optimize personal well-being and the safety and efficiency of the system (Ergonomics Association Executive Council, 2002).
