ABSTRACT

The absolute nature of scientific statements was for long considered sym bolic of universal rationality. We, on the other hand, think that science will open up to the universal when it stops denying, wanting to have nothing to do with the preoccupations and demands of the societies within which it is rooted, when it will be capable of conducting a dialog with nature, whose many charms are at last appreciated, and with men of all cultures, whose problems are at last respected.
