ABSTRACT
There are several versions of positive and negative dependence which arose in connection with applications in systems reliability, statistical mechanics, percolation models in probability/stochastic processes, and statistics. It appears that positive and negative association are the modes of positive and negative dependence which have found significant applicability in the areas just cited. The papers in the review section of this work provide a fair picture of the state of the art.
