ABSTRACT

Plants arc significant producers of a broad variety of biochemicals, many of them being significant drugs for medical purposes and other applications. The powerful metabolism of plants, however, is not restricted to producing countless primary and secondary metabolites. During the last two decades many plant organisms have also been shown to eliminate various chemical pollutants from soil and water by several strategies:
