ABSTRACT

In general, there are three coupled processes that will influence the rate of destabi­ lization and phase separation in emulsions [1-8]. These are flocculation, coales­ cence, and floe fragmentation. Often, irreversible aggregation is called coagula­ tion and the term “ flocculation” is used for reversible aggregation [9,10]. Ostwald ripening [11,12] coupled with aggregation and fragmentation [13] is a separate topic which will not be considered here.
