ABSTRACT
The primary reason for woody plant control is to improve the land resource to reach a goal or goals. Land resource improvement usually involves improving the type of vegetation growing on the area for the purpose intended, such as improved and increased forage for livestock, conifer release, improved wildlife habitat, aesthetics, control of vegetation on roadways and utility lines for improved visibility and aesthetics, and fire prevention and aesthetics around buildings and industrial sites. Protecting roadways, railroads, electrical lines, and pipelines is necessary to protect the enormous investment in both these facilities and the services rendered by them.
