For the present problem, the temperature distribution specified by Eq. (11.2) simply moves to the right at the speed U = 0.1 cm/s. The exact solutions for several values of time are presented in Figure 11.2. Note that the discontinuity in slope at the peak of the temperature distribution is preserved during convection.
