ABSTRACT
The roots of Eq. (3. 144) are r = I, I + II, and I - II. Let's find the complex root r = I + II starting with x) = 0.5 + 10.5. The complex arithmetic was performed by a FORTRAN program for Newton's method. The results are presented in Table 3.12.
