ABSTRACT
Many commercial software packages contain nonlinear equation solvers. Some of the more prominent packages are Matlab and Mathcad. More sophisticated packages, such as IMSL, Mathematica, Macsyma, and Maple, also contain nonlinear equation solvers. Finally, the book Numerical Recipes (Press et aI., 1989) contains numerous subroutines for solving nonlinear equations.
