ABSTRACT
As we have seen from previous chapters, channel parameters have to be identified explicitly or implicitly in order for receivers to compensate for channel distortion, In Chapter 6, we introduced various blind identification algorithms for SIMO or ΜΙΜΟ systems based on second-order statistics. SIMO or ΜΙΜΟ channels can be adaptively equalized. In Chapter 7, we have presented several HOS algorithms for SIMO and ΜΙΜΟ channels and analyzed their convergence properties. Unlike the HOS blind equalization methods of Chapter 7, in this chapter, we will present several direct equalizer parameter estimation algorithms, all based on second-order statistics of the channel output.
