ABSTRACT

Titanium based catalysts were synthesized from tetraneopentyltitanium and different silicas, differing by their hydrophilic I hydrophobic character. The analysis of their catalytic properties for the epoxidation of cyclohexene by aqueous H20 2 highlights the importance of the isolation and number of anchoring bonds of the titanium centers, in accordance with the high sensitivity of the Ti-0 bonds towards hydrolysis.
