Stagnation and Regression Concomitant with the Advances in Electrophoretic Separation Science

I. INTRODUCTION This chapter is devoted to incidences of scientific regression and stagnation encountered by the author in the course of four decades devoted to the development of electrophoretic methodology. Since those incidences reflect personal impressions, their presentation is necessarily unsystematic, nonexhaustive, and clearly subjective. Nonetheless, they may be relevant to the scientific process in this and other fields, which encompasses both learning and forgetting.
