The next day the O/W dispersion was examined. The procedure was similar and does not need to be included here. The maximum flow rates were 13.8 L/h feed and 27.6 L/h solvent, corresponding to a flux of 32 m3/m2/h. It is higher than in W/O by almost 20%. 3. Open loop mass transfer experiments When the open loop mass transfer experiments were started, we knew already that the maximum flux was about 27 m3/m2/h for W/O and 32 m3/m2/h for O/W. The tanks were filled with 300 L of solvent and 150 L of aqueous solution, to enable about 12 h of work.
