Of all the factors that describe character, the most important that correlates with goal achievement is truthfulness (honesty). Truthfulness is essential to leadership competence. It serves as the foundation upon which goalachieving behavior is based and trusting relationships are formed. Honesty is so important that it compensates for a lack of leadership
