ABSTRACT

The influence of the type and size of fibers on the strength and ductility of steel fibre reinforced concrete on 21 rings subjected to the two edge load was investigated. The test results have enabled a quantitative evaluation of the effect of different shape and surface treatment of fibres on the flexural strength and quasi-plastic behaviour of FRC rings in comparison with those made of plain concrete. A special attention is paid to the variation of curvature with increasing load.
