ABSTRACT

Thirty-five Polypropylene fibre reinforced concrete (PFRC) beams were tested to destruction to study their behaviour in shear-flexure mode. The contribution of concrete in compression, concrete in tension, longitudinal reinforcement and fibres in particular were estimated from experimental results. An expression for ultimate shear capacity has been developed involving parameters such as fibre content, a/d ratio, grade of concrete, pc/pt ratio, pt etc. A good agreement between theoretical and experimental results were observed.
