ABSTRACT

The mechanical property of GRC with new lower alkali cement was investigated by flexural test for the length of chopped fiber, mesh type fibers and water/ cement ratio, where the best combination of these factors was selected for the concrete form by the closed thin-section GRC precast panel. The shear test by repeated lateral load was carried out on the composite reinforced concrete column with closed thin-section GRC panel. The fact was recognized that the GRC web-panel is expected as not only the concrete form but the structural component.

On the basis of these results, the thin-section GRC precast panel was applied to the permanent concrete form of reinforced concrete column in four -story buildings in Japan.
