ABSTRACT

In the present paper it has been shown that using various metals (as fibres as powders) and special technology procedure revealed new possibilities of cement composites. The main reason is development of physical interaction between metal and cement (or, largely, dispersed hydrated cement) particles under normal temperature during their simultaneous plastic deformation, including compacting (contact hardening). It has been shown that the main factors which define the degree of instantaneous interaction are state of crystalline structure of substance, plasticity of metal, and compacting pressure. The results of long standing observations for metal-reinforced materials are given. The main advantages of the materials are the possibility of exploitation by improvement of strength and water-resistance immediately after compaction, low energy and metal consumption
