concrete apartment building of 3 6 apartments was carried ou t by blasting a t the defunct Takashim a Coal Mine of Mitsubishi Coal Mines Co., Ltd. Thi s i s the firs t example of th e blasting demolition o f a full-size RC structure i n Japan's history. A committee was established within the All-Japan Association fo r Security o f Explosives, Inc., and a demolition plan was prepared after carrying out a preparatory investigation .
