ABSTRACT

The concrete model that was used is based on the "smeared crack" concept. When the stress state is dominantly compressive, the response is modelled by an elastic-plastic theory, using a Drucker-Prager yield surface, an associative flow rule, and an isotropic hardening law. The constitutive behaviour in tension is initially isotropic and then modelled by a Drucker-Prager yield surface (crack detection surface) and an anisotropic hardening law. The damage due to micro cracking is modelled by decreasing modules of elasticity and shear associated with the crack-plane. With the model it is possible to get, at the most, three orthogonal crack-planes in each integration point.
