This means that the chosen mechanism meets a twofold need: - from a theoretical standpoint, in the static domain, it ensures that concrete behaviour
will be similar to the fracture behaviour of many metals for which it is possible to control the propagation velocity of a well defined crack;
- the results acquired, when used to predict the fatigue life of other types of anchor ages will be very conservative from the standpoint of safety.
