Risk of cracking in massive concrete structures - new developments and experiences

In the last two decades it has become common practice to try to limit cracking by fulfilhng certain more specific requirements with respect to temperature differences within the cast section as well as to temperature differences between new and old concrete, see Fig 1. It is e. g. customary to limit the value of AT = T^ax " to values between 12 and 20 °C.
