ABSTRACT
It is obvious that the compressive strength of a wall of storey height will always be lower than that obtained on the specimen recommended for the units used in this wall. The ratio between the two strengths varies by very broad limits (generally between 0.1 and 0.6) mainly depending on the type of the component, its strength, its porosity and the quality of the mortar.
