By way of checking, the distribution of the longitudinal deformations eb of the concrete along the test piece may be recorded during the test ( fig. 4 ). The transmission length for the prestressing force corresponds to the length over which the deformations increase. This length should be approximately equal (within 10%), to the average bond length calculated from the pull-in of all the tendons at one end of the test piece under examination [formula (2)].
