B.2.1. These Recommendations are an Annex to the RecommendationsTT-1: “Testing methods for joints with mechanical fasteners in load-bearing timber structures”.
B.2.2. This Annex gives recommended testing methods for determining: (a) load-slip characteristics and maximum load of laterally loaded nailed joints,
both for wood-to-wood joints and for wood-based sheet materials or metal plates nailed to wood or vice versa; various angles between the applied force and the direction of the grain of the timber (load-grain angle ß) are possible:
(b) load-slip characteristics and maximum load for axially loaded nailed joints (withdrawal testing);
(c) relevant mechanical properties of nails.
