ABSTRACT
This recommendation specifies a testing method for the determination of the specific fracture energy GF of AAC by means of stable wedge-splitting tests on notched specimens. The specific fracture energy is defined as the amount of energy necessary to create one unit area of a crack. The area of a crack is defined as the projected area on a plane parallel to the main crack direction. The tensile softening diagram is evaluated by means of an appropriate software module.
