ABSTRACT
The accuracy aimed at requires use of appropriate equipment. The essential items are (1) tensile testing machine with digital data acquisition equipment. The machine shall comply with class 1, ISO 7500/1 ‘Metallic materials-Verification of static uniaxial testing machines-Part 1: Tensile testing machines ’ or corresponding requirements of other national or international standards; (2) two extensometers with digital data acquisition equipment. The extensometers or extensometer systems shall comply with class B-1, ASTM E 83-85 ‘Standard Practice for Verification and Classification of Extensometers’ or corresponding requirements of other national or international standards; (3) data storage facility for automatic storage of measuring data; (4) facilities for evaluation of measuring data by regression analysis; (5) balance with an accuracy of ±0.1 g.
