ABSTRACT
The ballast must be placed in separate stacks on each area, to avoid arching, and the distances between stacks must be sufficient to permit circulation by the testing team.
It is recommended that solid ballast be in lumps or bags of fixed weight and this weight should be a submultiple of the test load.
