COMMENT It is possible to accept a concentration of reinforcement, for example floor slab ties, but it must be possible to detail the test piece correctly.

Tests on grooved non-reinforced joints are possible, but difficult to interpret: obtaining preliminary cracking calls for cautious operating. In the case of a horizontal test the weight of the upper part intervenes rather more than with a reinforced joint.
