ABSTRACT
The notch width at the tip should be less than 10 mm. If the fracture energy of concrete of an existing structure has to be determined, it
is suggested that suitable specimens are cut from drilled cores. A notch has to be sawn and metal or concrete arms have to be glued to the specimen, so that the total specimen fulfils the geometrical conditions given in table I. The diameter of the core has to be adjusted to the maximum aggregate size.
