ABSTRACT
Abstract A unidirectional carbon fiber sheet material, applicable for repair and reinforcement of concrete structures, has been developed by Tonen Corporation of Japan. The Tow Sheet material is attached to concrete surfaces with epoxy adhesive. This paper discusses a number of attractive application examples already completed in Japan. These include the inside repair of a tunnel where the sheet material provides additional strength to the existing concrete and prevents exfoliation of concrete without significantly decreasing tunnel passage area.
