ABSTRACT

This anchoring system for FRP tendons using highly expansive material had been previously developed by the authors using a steel pipe[2]. A steel pipe has been used mostly as sleeve to restrain high expansive pressure and to resist the prestressing force. The main objective of this research is to replace with non-metallic material from the conventional steel. In this paper, experimental results concerning the strength and long/short term deformation behavior of the anchoring devices made of resin mortar and CFRP spirals are described. Also the design of anchoring devices and prestressing methods in practice using this anchoring system are reported.
