ABSTRACT

Abstract Continuous fiber reinforcements have excellent properties, for example, corrosion free, light weight and high tensile strength and are expected to apply to the practical structures as reinforcements for concrete. However, in a concrete member that is reinforced by several continuous fiber reinforcements, it is reported that each reinforcement has a scatter of the strains [1]. This is because the continuous fiber reinforcements do not have an area of yield like a steel bar. So in a design, it is important whether the continuous fiber reinforcements should be considered as same as the steel bars.
